One of the courses that I took during my graduate education in creative writing was a course in creative writing pedagogy. I gained valuable experience learning how to teach creative writing, and learning how to evaluate, on an academic level, what many would consider very subjective material! How, exactly, does one grade creative writing? Even to the experts, that's a tough question to answer.
Nevertheless, I am proud of the work I did in this class, and I am pleased with the knowledge I gained. While I may never teach creative writing as a college professor, I know that I am prepared to teach creative writing in community settings, as well as help others learn how to improve upon their craft, whether for professional or personal reasons.
I love to work with all walks of burgeoning writers - even those who are learning how to put their imagination on the page for the first time.
